Mob Up!: Bad Moon Slugga Boyz

From Stuff I Have Painted: Orks
Hello. I am Mars, new guy here at still practicing_. Not entirely new on the internets. I had a small blog called Mars' Project Blog. But real life catches up, and I couldn't post frequently enough to justify my own blog, so I was assimilated here.

I would like introduce my army project for the year. Year is pretty optimistic actually, but we will go with that for now. The optimism is based off the fact that I paint very slowly. Glacially slow. So it stands to reason that I should try and crack out a horde army in a year right?

Anyway, I just finished up seven more boyz, making for half of my first mob. Which sounds a lot better than 1/6 of my boyz painted. You may count ten, but some of them already made their internet debut at my old blog.

I have found, on these boyz, that a great surface for free hand was their back armor plates. Although, most of the time I will be the only one seeing it. Even still, I wanted some quick, orkish designs, so dags, checks, and Bad Moon flames for a few of the boyz were in order.

These boyz were a lot of fun, but I have yet to see an increase in my painting speed. I expect to get quicker as I become more familiar with the models. I am bumping up to ten 10 for this next batch, including the nob. I have heard from many people who paint horde armies that you have to paint in 10's at the very least. I figure I better give it a go.

Lastly, as a bit of a sneak peak, although it will be some time before it comes up in the painting rotation, the ladz got together and decided to improve on one of Tallarn's Basilisks. It hadn't moved for like an hour, so they figured he didn't need it anymore. Now we have a new looted wagon that are certain will look smashing in yellow.

Thanks. My wife actually picked the clan. And my daughter's favorite color de jour is yellow. So it was meant to be.
