A Fist Full of Bitz: Final 4

Someday I won't resort to using the droid to take pictures everyday, but at 8 mega pixels it will do for now - just no controls over the macro settings. On the work bench is the Medusa, sister to the one I already finished in the same lowrider style as the first one, which is complete but needs a clear coat, and I don't have any at the moment, so she will sit there for a few days. Today I also built the final 4 veterans for the unit, you can see the 4 new ones primered and ready for paint so they can join the other 6.

Here they are after a bit of paint is applied:

Total of 10 guys completed for the Veteran Squad, 3x Meltaguns, Democharge, Sniper Rifle, Auspex and a Hunting dog. I achieved my goal of a characterful unit that can work in kill team missions as well as making a unique unit on the battlefield. The biggest key I found with these guys is the short carbine (collapsible stock) lasguns on the tank accessory sprues. Find your fellow tread heads and make sure they don't get tossed out! Here's to trying new and interesting things...

Cheers,

Tallarn

  1. Love the colour scheme, and I love that Medusa I like its low style. Your vets are really cool too, never thought of using the short carbine's off the vehicle sprues. I will have to keep that one in mind.

  2. The carbine lasguns are great, they make conversions much easier as they dont have the normal stock you have to deal with on the larger ones.

Another added bonus is people asking where they come from when they see them, good conversation starter!

  3. from a fluff point of view they work too, especially in a Tallarn (read - mechanized/mounted) army, where the collapsible stock would be a space-saver, and also much more manoeuvrable for those fast-moving vets...
